Company Policies
 2019-2020

If you are considering having us perform masonry work at your home here are some things you should know up front:

First and foremost,

We Require Your Trust

Forming a good relationship with any contractor providing services at your home is SO important. We encourage you to ask as many questions as you need to before hand to learn about your project and to get a good feel for how our company operates. We want your job to go well.

Mutual Respect

We want to create a comfortable environment for homeowners and employees. It is absolutely essential that there be mutual respect across the board. Meet the team on our website ☺

Hours Of Operation

Evolve owner, Erin, is a mother with two small children. Her work hours are currently 8am to 2pm, Monday through Friday with some availability on Saturdays. Employees are permitted to work on site alone only if they have been fully trained in the services they are providing.

Pricing

We are non-competitive and give you our best price based on what WE think it will cost for US to the do the job. Estimates are approximations, not actual cost, and are used for jobs that may have special considerations. A Quote is a firm price, used when the project is fairly straightforward. We do not negotiate price on either.

Contracts and Agreements

Signed long form contracts are required for jobs over $1000. Contracts include a payment plan.

Signed agreements are required for jobs estimated or quoted under $1000. Agreements require just two payments: the deposit and the balance.

*If there are multiple homeowners or decision makers in the household it is required that all parties be present for the signing of the contract or agreement. This allows for all parties to ask questions and understand the process for your project.

Payments

Payments are due according to your payment schedule. Contracts require continuance payment(s) during your project. These payments must be remitted immediately for the job to keep moving forward. Final payments must be remitted within 45 days of invoice date or an interest rate of 1.5% will be applied weekly until your balance is paid in full.

Site Visit Minimum

Small odd jobs, even though they may be quick, still require us to block out time on the schedule to come to you. The minimum site visit charge is $150 plus materials.

Deposits

Deposits are required for ALL projects. The required deposit is 1/3 of the total project cost. The deposit holds your spot in the schedule. This amount is non-refundable UNLESS your project hasn’t commenced within 14 days of your scheduled start date  (new construction is an exception as we dance around other tradespeople and schedules get flip-flopped).

Start Dates

We do our best to stay on schedule and be there when we say we will, but we are at the mercy of the elements and other contractors in some cases. If there are any changes to schedule involving your project it will be communicated prior to your start date.

Weather Delays

As mentioned above, Mother Nature dictates if we can/can’t work on certain sites. We do our best to stay on track. We cannot provide outdoor services involving certain products if the temperature ranges 40-32 degrees Fahrenheit or below.

Restrooms

We completely understand if you prefer us to not use your restroom, however, please be aware that time spent travelling to a public restroom will be considered billable hours.

Dust

Masonry work and construction in general can get very dusty. Some jobs make more dust than others. We will ask you to shut windows and doors to prevent dust from getting indoors. Clean up of dust and debris is included in every estimate unless otherwise discussed. We are OSHA certified.

Moving furniture, Grills, And Valuables

We do not move ANYTHING and here’s why- more often than not we don’t know where to put it. Also, we don’t want to break it. All items and vehicles must be moved ENTIRELY out of the way prior to the start of your project. Failure to do so will result in the postponement of your project until all items are moved. Rescheduling may occur and deposits retained.

Plants

We try our best to preserve plant life, however, the location of your masonry project often becomes a high traffic area while we are performing work. If you have any concerns about preserving plant life please voice those concerns at any time prior to the start of your project.

General Safety

No one is EVER permitted to touch tools or materials belonging to us. We are compliant with OSHA standards, HOWEVER, we ask homeowners also practice due diligence to keep everyone safe. While we are working we have eyes on our crew and what we are doing. We ask that you remain at a safe distance while we are working AT ALL TIMES. If it is ever unclear what a safe distance is, just ask!

Scaffolding (staging)

Walking under or too close to erect scaffolding is never considered safe, whether the scaffolding is in use or not. If your project requires scaffolding, please be mindful to keep yourself, children, and pets at a safe distance while the scaffolding structure is erect. We will provide visual and physical barriers so you know what that safe distance is.

Noise

When equipment is necessary we cannot guarantee peace and tranquility AT ALL. We also like to laugh, a LOT. Our jokes are truly horrible. Earplugs are available to you at any time in our safety equipment box. Just ask ☺

Unanticipated Circumstances

Home projects are all unique, particularly when it comes to restoration projects. We do our best to anticipate the requirements of your project, but some in some cases unanticipated circumstances can arise. Communication is key to keep your project on track and going in the right direction.

Communication With Other Contractors

If multiple contractors are performing work on your home at once we ask you to provide us with their information so we can communicate with them in case work scopes overlap.

Did We Mention Trust?

Have faith that we are going to provide you with the best results possible. We keep you updated on progress regularly through email (if you have it) once your project has commenced. We find communicating through email helps with note keeping for both the homeowner and us.  It tends to complicate the relationship when homeowners become overly involved suddenly during the process of their project. Ask as many questions as you need to ahead of time so you feel confident in our abilities. Rest assured we want to do our best work for you. Don’t hire us if you don’t have 100% confidence in us!

By signing this document you are stating that you have read, understand, and agree to comply with all of the Evolve Masonry and Homes, LLC Company policies listed above. A signed copy must be returned with your contract or agreement.
